Well Organised Catalog & Cart

Welcome again to my article.

In today's digital world, there are many websites available in market to shop from. But out of those, there are only few websites which generally attracts us.

What do we look for when we go on any of them ? [ Excepts Offers :) ]

1. Easy Catalog View
2. Products Available in Category
3. Well Visualised Cart
4. Grouped Package Items
5. Easy Search Option

Today we are going to focus on how we can meet few of these needs using Salesforce CPQ.

We are going to look few package level setting available in Salesforce CPQ which enables us to make a user friendly view.

These settings are available under following path: Setup -> Installed Package -> Salesforce CPQ -> Configuration Page.

Let's have a look at them one by one:

• Product Results Group Field Name: This setting is available under Additional Setting Tab. Using this setting we can group our catalog by any field of Product object.

When we have a very large catalog and we have to look for our product, this setting would help us find our product easily by looking at the grouping itself.

In Example we have grouped catalog products by Product Family.

Note: In above image, we can see our products are grouped in 'Hardware', 'Service' & 'Software' category. These Categories are also Expandable & Collapsable.

• Visualize Product Hierarchy: This setting is available under Line Editor tab. Many time it happens that we buy number of products which includes few products available as package. Now when we look through the Cart, It would be great to see our package & sub product with some Indentation.

For Example, We are purchasing a Laptop which comes with few options like Mouse, KeyBoard & Light Pen. Now while viewing cart it would be a great experience if the package & its components can be shown in indentation to get a better view.

• Keep Bundle Together: This setting is available Under Line Editor tab.

Imaging a case where we are just doing drag and drop in our cart to adjust the order of the products available in cart.

In case of moving Package product down or up the order in cart, we always need its component to also move upward or downward with package right?

When this Keep Bundle Together check box is checked, whole package with component will be move upward or downward when we move package product.

• Enable Large Quote Experience: This setting is available under Line Editor tab.

When we are buying many products together and our quote contains large amount of quote lines, we can use this setting to get following functionalities available on cart.

1. Scrolling availability in quote lines instead of Pagination.
2. When having multiple quote line groups, we can see one group at a time in cart from a list of product groups available in sidebar.
3. MDQ tables can be visible as Tabs.
4. Summary Totals (Rows) get locked.
5. Expand/Collapse individual bundle.
6. Expand/Collapse all bundle in single go.

• Enable Expand/Collapse Bundles: This setting is available Under Line Editor tab.

As we mentioned above, when we have a large amount of quote line available in our cart. it is difficult to visualise the products. we can enable this setting to make bundle Expandable or Collapsible.

• Default Bundle Setting: This setting is available Under Line Editor tab. This setting controls how the package products will be visualised when we go to cart.

There are two values which we can set for this setting:

Expanded: When set, all the bundles will be expanded by default when we lend on cart.

Collapsed: When set, all the bundles will be collapsed by default when we lend on cart.

• Enable Multi Line Delete: This setting is available under Line Editor tab and controls the way to delete the products available in cart.

When this check box is unchecked, we can delete any product item by clicking Trash icon.

The drawback is we have to click trash icon for each and every product to remove them.

When this checkbox is checked, We will get a checkbox just before the index to which we can select & click 'Delete Lines' button to delete all the lines in single go.

• Actions Column Placement: This setting is available under Line Editor tab. This setting controls in which direction all the quote line level actions will be visible.

There are two values which we can set for this setting:

Right: When set, all the quote line level actions will be visible in the last column for each quote line in cart

The drawback is when we have a large number of fields available on cart line. we have to scroll through all fields to right and then we can perform some actions.

Left: When set, all the quote line level actions will be visible in the first column on cart for each quote line.

These were some of the settings which can be used to provide a really good experience to the customer.
