Use of Installed Package Setting Fields Part 1 - Salesforce CPQ

Welcome again to my blog.

We have seen use of few of the important product fields in my previous blogs, today we are going to the usage of the several Installed Package Setting fields from Salesforce CPQ.

Let's start reviewing the fields available under tab Line Editor in Installed Package setting:

  • Hide Renewed Assets When Editing - This field will control the behaviour of renewed asset on cart.
    • If checked, all the renewed asset will be hidden in cart.
    • If unchecked, all the renewed asset will be visible in cart..
  • Visualize Product Hierarchy - If checked, all the bundle products and its options will be shown will indentation in the cart.
  • Preserve Bundle Structure - If checked, the bundle structure of all the bundles will be maintained on renewals.
            Consider,  Contracting an order triggered the creation of Contract with Subscription and Assets both. When we renew the contract.
    • If Preserve Bundle Structure is Checked, The renewal quote will have Subscription products as well as Asset products as renewal quote lines. 
    • If Preserve Bundle Structure is Checked, The renewal quote will only have Subscription products as renewal quote lines. 
  • Keep Bundle Together - If checked, the bundle and its options will be together when we use drag and drop to move bundle product.
  • Totals Field - Salesforce CPQ will sum the selected field of all quote lines and show it in Line Editor Total.
  • Line Subtotals Total Field - Salesforce CPQ will sum the selected field of all quote lines and show it in Line Editor Sub Total.
  • Enable Expand/Collapse Bundles - If checked, user will be able to Expand or Collapse the bundle as per his/her need.
  • Default Bundle Setting - This field is used to define the default bundle setting.
    • If Set to Expanded, all the bundle will be expanded by default when we come to cart.
    • If Set to Collapsed, all the bundle will be collapsed by default when we come to cart.
  • Actions Column Placement - This field controls the behaviour all of the actions available for quote lines.
    • If Set to Left, all the quote line actions will be visible at the start of each quote line in layout.
    • If Set to Right, all the quote line actions will be visible at the end of each quote line in layout.
  • Enable Multi Line Delete - If checked, we will be able to delete multiple lines via selection on cart screen.
  • Enable Asset Upgrades - If checked, Upgrade Asset button will be visible on cart using which we can upgrade an existing asset.
  • Group Subtotals Field -  Salesforce CPQ will sum the selected field of all quote lines available in particular group and show in Quote line editor's group sub total.
  • Wrap Buttons - If checked, all the buttons in quote line editor will be wrapped within a smaller window.
  • Enable Large Quote Threshold Validations - If checked, product validation rules will be applied at the time of saving the quote.
  • Enable Compact Mode - If checked, all the empty spaces will be removed from quote line drawer.
  • Enable Column Resizing - If checked, the user will be able to resize the column in cart.
  • Quote Batch Size - Loading or Save operation of quote lines will be determined by the number added over here.  If blank, 150 will be considered as the default value for this.

These were few package level fields which can be used to control behaviour Line Editor screen.
