Use of Installed Package Setting Fields Part 2 - Salesforce CPQ
Hello Everyone,
Welcome again to my blog.
We have seen use of few of the important product fields in my previous blogs, today we are going to the usage of the several Installed Package Setting fields from Salesforce CPQ.
Let's start reviewing the fields available under tab Subscription and Renewals in Installed Package setting:
- Renewal Model - This field will control the behaviour of renewal.
- If Contract Based, then renewal quotes will be created using contracts & subscription lines.
- If Asset Based, then renewal quotes will be created using assets related to account.
- Allow Renewal Quotes Without Assets- Salesforce CPQ treats non-subscription lines on renewal quotes as renewed products. All these non-subscription lines will be zeroed out and none of them will create a new asset on contract creation for renewal quotes/orders.
- Subscription Prorate Precision - This field defines whether the subscription pricing will be prorated by each day, each month or month + day.
- Contract In Foreground - If checked, the contract creation process will be done in foreground rather than happening in background. This might increase the risk of CPQ Timeout.
- Use Legacy Amend/Renew Service - If checked, the amendments and renewals will follow legacy contract services, the drawback of using this is we would not be able to utilize the improved amendment & renewal services.
- Disable Product Bundle Sub Type Checks - If checked, It will allow user to change the Subscription Type on the products which is modeled as an option to bundle. If unchecked, it will provide a validation error when we try to change the Subscription Type on the option product.
- Subscription Term Unit - Salesforce CPQ defines the subscription length based on the value selected in this field. It can be either Day or Month.
- Include Net-new Products in Maintenance - If checked, the new products added to the renewal or amendment quotes will make the price contribution to the Percentage Of Total products. This behaviour of Net New Products still depends on the 'Include In Percent of Total' or 'Exclude from Percent of Total' fields set on products.
- Disable Product Bundle Sub Type Checks - If checked, It will allow user to change the Subscription Type on the products which is modeled as an option to bundle. If unchecked, it will provide a validation error when we try to change the Subscription Type on the option product.
- Re-evaluate Bundle Logic on Renewals - If checked, all the configurations rules, product rules will be evaluated automatically on renewals.
- PoT Renewals (Contracting from Orders) - Renew subscribed assets when contracting from orders. Percent of Total subscriptions retain relationships with their covered assets on the renewal quote. .
- Bypass Preserve Bundle Structure - If checked, Your bundle product will not be kept together. While amendment those bundle lines will not be tied together and will become an individual lines on cart.
These were few package level fields which can be used to control behaviour of Subscription on Renewals.
