Use of Installed Package Setting Fields Part 3 - Salesforce CPQ

Welcome again to my blog.

In my previous blogs, we have seen the usage of different installed package level setting such as 'Line Editor settings' & 'Subscription & Renewal settings'. 

Today, we will have a look at the fields available under tab 'Pricing and Calculation' in Installed Package setting:

  • Currency Symbol - Here we can store the currency symbol which we wants to see on generate PDF & Line Editor for Currency fields. These setting would only work when Multi currency is disabled on organisation level.
  • Unit Price Scale - Using this setting, we can set the scale of Unit Price. The prices will be rounded to the nearest decimals precision.
  • Enable Quick Calculate - If checked, the pricing calculate will be more quicker then usual. The pricing will be quickly calculate only:
    • Pricing Rules are not used.
    • Summary fields are not exposed on cart.
    • Parent Level formula field doesn't exists on cart. 
  • Allow Non-Consecutive Custom Segments - If case of segmented pricing, if this setting is checked then it will allow the segment lines to be non-consecutive, that means it is possible to have different start date for the 2nd segment. Ideally the start date for the segment is usually the end date + 1 of its previous segment.
  • Enable Pricing Guidance - If checked, it will show the pricing level guidance on line editor that is being set at the product level.
  • Enable Usage Based Pricing - If checked, If will allow us to setup Usage Based Pricing for product and that will be visible on line editor as well. If unchecked, we would not be able to see the Usage Tiers on line editor for usage based products.
  • Quote Line Edits for Usage Based Pricing - If checked, it will allow to edit the usage tiers set for the products on quote line editor.
  • Use Legacy Calculator - Check this checkbox to use the legacy pricing calculator services.
  • Use Inactive Prices - Check to use the inactive products prices.
  • Calculate Immediately - If checked, the real time pricing calculation will be enabled, the pricing will be triggered as soon as the field is change on quote line editor screen.
  • Disable Background Calculation Refresh - If checked, the page refresh that happens on the standard objects when the inline pages completes the process will be disabled.
  • Hide Uncalculated Quote Warning - If checked, It will hide the warning on the quote detail page when user contracts an opportunity or generate the document on Uncalculated quotes.

These were few package level fields which can be used to control behaviour of Pricing Calculations.

Summary Variable - Salesforce CPQ
