Use of Installed Package Setting Fields Part 4 - Salesforce CPQ

Welcome again to my blog.

In my previous blogs, we have seen the few installed package level setting.

Today, we will have a look at the fields available under other tabs in 'Installed Package' setting for Salesforce CPQ.

Documents Tab:

  • Document Folder - Here we have to choose the place where we wants our documents to be stored. Following are the options from which we can select:
    • User Personal Documents - This is default setting
    • DocuSign
    • Quotes
    • Salesforce CPQ Assets
    • Steelbrick CPQ Template Resource
  • Hide Document Name - If checked, the document name will be hidden while generating the quote document.
  • Full Page Preview - If checked, the document will be previewed in full page.
    • Exclude Hidden Lines In Group Totals - If checked, the hidden lines will be excluded from the group total calculation.
    • Attachment Target - If you wants to store the generated document to any other object except document object, use this field for the same. Following can be the values from which you can select:
      • Document Only - Default value
      • Quote
      • Opportunity
    • Post to Feed? - If checked, the document will be posted to the feed instead of getting stored at attachment level. It would require to have feed tracking enabled for the object on which document is getting generated.
    • Enable Multi-Language Translations - If checked, translations will be visible on Quote Line Editor, Product Selection Screen, Product configurator screen and on Document Generation screen.

    Groups Tab:

    • Solution Groups Enabled - If checked, Solution Groups will be enabled in Salesforce CPQ.
    • Require Group Name - If checked, group name would be required on the Line Editor screen.

    Quote Tab:
    • Disable Initial Quote Sync - If checked, the opportunity products will not be transferred to quote lines of the initial quote created on the opportunity.
      • Disable Quote Contact Defaulting - If checked, the defaulting of Primary contact on quote will be disabled. If unchecked, the primary contact on quote will be defaulted with the primary contact role on the opportunity.
      • Allow Option Deletion - If checked, deletion of the product option used on the prior quote will be allowed.
      • Disable Quote Address Defaulting - If checked, Address information will not be defaulted while quote creation.
      • Primary Quote Keeps Opportunity Products - If checked, the opportunity products will remain in the system although the primary quote being marked as non primary.
      • Default Quote Validity (Days) : Defines for how many days the quote will be valid for.


      Order Tab:

      • Require Approved Quote - If checked, Creation of order requires a primary quote to be approved.

        • Default Order Start Date - This setting is used to determine the default order start date. There can be 2 values from which we can select :
          • Today
          • Quote Start Date
        • Allow Multiple Orders - If checked, multiple order can be created from a single quote.
        • Create Orders Without Opportunities - If checked, order can be created without having an opportunity.

        These were few other fields which can be used to control different features in Salesforce CPQ.
