Use of Product Option Fields - Part 2

Welcome again to my blog.

In my Previous Blog, we have seen use of several field of product option, Today we are going to have a look at remaining important fields.

Let's start reviewing:

  • Percent of Total Scope - This field is used to determine how the percent of total product option is getting calculated. we can select from following values:
    • Package - If selected, product option will not contribute towards the pricing of product marked as Percentage of Total Product. The price of POT product will be calculated based on bundle's price.
    • Component - If selected, product option will contribute towards the pricing of product marked as Percentage of Total Product. Bundle's price will not contribute towards the pricing of POT products.
    • Both - If selected the price of POT product will get its contribution from Bundle's price as well as from Product Options's price.
  • Discounted By Package - If checked, the percentage discount applied to the parent package will be cascaded to the product option line as well. 
  • Uplifted By Package - If checked, the uplift applied to the parent package will be cascaded to the product option line as well.
  • Default Pricing Table - Defines how the option product will be visible on quote line whether in Segmented form or Standard form.
  • Component Code - Represents the code for the option component.

  • Component Description - Represents the description for the option component.

  • System - If checked, the option will not be available anywhere. Option product will be only accessible for System context.

  • Renewal Product Option - The product selected here will be replacing the current option product on renewals.
  • Component Code Position -  Represent the position on which the Component Code will be added for generation of Package Product Code on bundle product.
  • Component Description Position - Represent the position on which the Component Description will be added for generation of Package Product Description on bundle product.
  • Apply Immediately - If checked, the Product /Pricing Rule will be applied immediately upon selecting the product option or changing the quantity.
  • Apply Immediately Context- Defines when the Pricing/Product rule will be executed, We can select from following values:
    • Always - If selected, the rules will be applied always.
    • On Selection - If selected, the rules will be applied on product option selection or deselection.
    • On Quantity Change - If selected, the rules will be applied upon the quantity change.

These were the remaining fields which can be used to control behaviour Product Options.

Summary Variable - Salesforce CPQ
